NOTD: Banana Candy

At first I wanted to do a tutorial for this nail art but it's so easy that I don't think is needed.

I used LAYLA 101 for the base and added some dots using KIKO 290, 295 and 296.

I took inspiration from the "lemon nails" in the latest issue of Nail Up.

When I saw this color I wanted it even if I'm not a yellow lover.

It's a really pretty yellow creme that scream "SUMMER HAS COME!!".

The first coat was really stricky, the second was better but probably three coats would have been perfect.

Unfortunately I don't like this color on me, but I layered over some yellow glitter (KIKO 269) and it was better, probably one of my future pedi.

I usually don't like yellow polishes and I'm not even attracted to them but when I saw this I bought it without thinking twice.

Maybe it's fault of all of those pastel polish floating around lately but I'm really in love with this color. It's a little sheer but with three coats it gets opaque enough for me. The formula is like all the other LAYLA polishes: very liquid, it always gets on my cuticles but it's something I can overlook.

Tutorial #024: Ayumi Hamasaki - You were.../BALLAD inspired

This tutorial is inspired by Ayumi's nails in her latest single cover.
I think that with a more bright color instead of yellow this nail art will be awesome!

What you need: a dotting tool or a toothpick.

Colors:

• Base Coat: KIKO Extra strong&hard No. 04
• Light Yellow: Bottega Verde No. 15
• White: KIKO No. 203
• Top Coat: KIKO Shiny Top Coat No.03

How to:

1. Apply your base coat.
2. Apply a light yellow polish on 3/4 of the nail and a white polish on the tip. With a dotting tool or a toothpick mix the two polish together. When dry apply your top coat.

   

Swatch: Bottega Verde No. 15

This is a very light yellow creme. I don’t like this color alone but it’s good as a base for decorations.

Swatch: KIKO No. 269

This is a vely sheer yellow base with a lot of yellow micro glitter. I don’t like it alone but it’s good with other polishes.

Tutorial #016: Autumn Flowers

I really love fall and its colors, so here is a nail art inspired by the autumn's leaves and flowers. I made two versions of this nail art because I couldn't choose witch one I liked the most!

What you need: a thin brush, a needle.

Colors:

• Base Coat: Debby nail THERAPY smoothing base + minerals
• Brown: COLLISTAR No: 42 MELANZANA GLITTER
• Gold: Deborah Shine TECH No: 21
• Glitter Gold: KIKO No. 164
• White: KIKO No. 101
• Red: RIMMEL Lycra PRO No. 323 RIVIERA RED
• Top Coat: KIKO Extra strong & hard No.04

How to:

1. Apply your base coat.
2. Apply a dark brown. Apply a second coat if needed.
3. With the thin brush and the gold polishes draw some lines. They don't have to be perfect. Add some glitter if you want.
4. With the head of the needle draw some white dots. They have to be small.
5. With the head of the needle draw some dots, red this time, but don't cover the white ones completely. When PERFECTLY dry apply your top coat. (Since in the dots the polish is concentrated it may take a while to dry, be sure to wait or you will ruin everything.)

Here is the final result. I made it only on one nail because its a detailed nail art and I didn't want it to be too much, but you can do it on the whole hand if you like it!

Using the same technique and changing the colors you can have different results. Here is a lighter version.

Colors:

• Base Coat: Debby nail THERAPY smoothing base + minerals
• Yellow: Bottega Verde No. 15
• Gold/Brown: I don't remember where this come from...
• Orange: KIKO No. 112
• Dark Red: KIKO No. 116
• White: KIKO No. 101
• Red: RIMMEL Lycra PRO No. 323 RIVIERA RED
• Top Coat: KIKO Extra strong & hard No.04

How to:

1. Apply your base coat and then a yellow polish. Use a light yellow, it doesn't have to be too intense.
2. With the thin brush draw some lines with a gold or brown polish.
3. Add other lines using the orange and dark red polishes.
4. With the head of a needle add some white dots.
5. Add some more dots using a red polish. When PERFECTLY dry apply your top coat. (Since in the dots the polish is concentrated it may take a while to dry, be sure to wait or you will ruin everything.)

Tutorial # 009: Yellow Summer-in

This is a very summer-ish nail art. Its really easy and quick to do!
On the thumbs there are cute ice creams!!

What you need: a sponge ( I used the ones used for eyeshadow), a thin brush, nail polish drops. [See this nail art for how to make nail polish drops]

Colors:

• Base Coat: Debby nail THERAPY smoothing base + minerals
• White: KIKO No: 101
• Yellow: RIVEEL No. 190
• Light Blue: KIKO No. 159
• Orange: KIKO No. 112
• Brown: STARSTYLE No: 17
• Gold: Deborah Shine TECH No: 21
• Dark Brown: COLLISTAR No: 42 MELANZANA GLITTER
• Top Coat: Deborah 7 Days Long No.00

How to:

1. Apply your base coat.
2. Apply two coat of white polish.
3. With the the sponge make some lines alternating the two colors.
4. Add a line in the white part using the brush.
5. On the thumb make an ice cream. First using the brush, draw a brown triangle, on a side use the gold polish and on the other side use the dark brown to make a few lines to give the ice cream a 3D effect. When dry use the drop of polish to make the upper part of the ice cream.
