Risparmiamo con i dupes: Mac Satin Taupe

Un paio di mesi fa ho acquistato da MAC un ombretto che si annunciava come la star della stagione:

il Satin Taupe

un bel marroncino molto versatile.

Quando l'ho messo ho subito pensato che sicuramente avevo qualcosa di simile e ho trovato ben due alternative di gran lunga più economiche...

Allora lanciamoci in questi confronti a caccia di dupes!



Gli ombretti presi in esame e accostati al Satin Taupe sono:

• Essence Party All Night

Impressioni:

• l'ombretto MAC è molto modulabile e facile da sfumare, un jolly nel beauty per un trucco da giorno che può facilmente trasformarsi e diventare sofisticato.

• l'ombretto ELF è mezzotono più scuro e meno luminoso, la consistenza è leggermente polverosa ma molto scrivente.

• l'ombretto Essence è leggermente meno lucido e più chiaro, meno pigmentato degli altri, come resistenza MAC rende meglio ma con una buona base fa il suo dovere.

Risultato: a verderli dalle cialdine sembrerebbe quello della ELF il più simile, mentre una volta applicati vince la sfida Essence.

Dia de los Manicure

So I'm back. Version 2.0. The redesign isn't done yet, but the nail designs are here! :) Like I said before, it won't be every single day (I need a life, too!), but I'll try! :)

Today's manicure was in celebration of Dia de los Muertos, the Mexican celebration also known as the 'Day of the Dead'. Some of the most incredible art is made for this celebration and because of this celebration, and I LOVE this style of art. I based this nail art on an embroidery pattern that I bought from Urban Threads, which is the most amazing site for awesome and nerdy embroidery patterns. The design I used is a skeleton mariachi band! :) Hope you like it as much as I do!

I used American Apparel Cotton as a base, with American Apparel Hassid to outline the skulls, and American Apparel California Trooper to shade. For the background colors, I used Zoya Jancyn on the index finger, Zoya Robyn for the middle finger, and Nubar Sexy Red for the ring finger. For the pinky and thumb, I used American Apparel Hassid for the background, with Nubar Sexy Red for the roses, American Apparel Manila for the trumpet on the pinky, with Zoya Jancyn to shade inside the bell of it. For the guitar, I used American Apparel California Trooper as a base, with MAC Brown Bag over it. I also used MAC Brown Bag for the sombreros. Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat.

Happy Day After Halloween!!!!

I am sooooo exhausted! We had a blast this weekend, and the hubby and I hosted an adult party on Saturday, and a kids on Sunday. After the kids party we all went out with the kids, and came back to our place for the night. I had so much fun, but I think I might actually pass out at my desk!

Quit possibly, my new FAVE glitter!!!

I ordered this off of Sinful's site, along with a few others. It does resemble Frenzy, but this is more opaque, imo, and itsy bitsy different colored glitter in it. The cool name...................are you ready...............is Purple Blue Glitter, LOLOLOL. Anyways, sorry for the weird skin tone, I was in a hotel room, bad lighting, but the nail colors are dead on. It was soooo shiny, and this is actually one that made me keep looking at my hands! This was also layered over black, just because I didn't expect it to be so opaque.

Cipria liquida...ancora non l'avevo provata.

Mi sono onestamente chiesta come funziona e cosa ha di diverso rispetto ad una cipria normale.

E' una sorta di crema, quindi si deve applicare con una spugnetta, spandetela bene bene e l'effetto crema svanisce lasciando spazio ad un effetto "polvere" come una cipria normale.

Si può applicare prima del fondotinta per migliorarne l'applicazione o dopo per eliminare disequilibri di tono poichè agisce cromaticamente.


Caratteristiche:

A base di siliconi:

Uniforma l'incarnato nascondendo i rossori della pelle;

Elimina l'eccesso di olio creando un effetto mat.

Esiste in 4 varianti di colore nella foto trovate la tonalità numero 4!

Unico punto leggermente a sfavore che ho trovato è che appena applicata lascia al tatto un leggerissimo effetto oleoso che svanisce però quasi del tutto nell'arco di qualche minuto!
