Swatch: KIKO No. 297

This is probably the color I was most disappointed with.

It was cute in the bottle but on the nails was kind of boring. Also it was a little sheer and after two coats there was still VNL, usually KIKO polish are two coaters.

I will try it with some glitter over it.

Swatch: KIKO No. 295

First thing I would like to say that for these swatch I changed the lighting for my indoor pictures, but they came out pretty dark so I think I will go back to the previous lighting.

In fact the first picture is absolutely not color accurate, the color came out too dark, almost royal blue. The second picture is more accurate.

Now to the polish.

This color is my favorite from the last KIKO haul. It's not a surprise to me since I know I love blue, wheter it's polish, clothes or anything else.

This is a nice add to my blue polishes. I really love it and I already wear it for about three days without getting tired of it, strange thing for me since I like to change my polish more often if I have the time.

I had this color and a lighter version of it in my hands and I really didn't know which one buy so I let my sister choose. And her choise was right because I'm totally in love with this color.

This color is called "Dark Magenta" but for me is too on the pink side to be a magenta, it's more berry to me.

Swatch: KIKO No. 279

When I saw this color I wanted it even if I'm not a yellow lover.

It's a really pretty yellow creme that scream "SUMMER HAS COME!!".

The first coat was really stricky, the second was better but probably three coats would have been perfect.

Unfortunately I don't like this color on me, but I layered over some yellow glitter (KIKO 269) and it was better, probably one of my future pedi.

Clothes for the little! ♥

My cousin just opened her online blogshop selling babies/toddlers clothings. Prices are really reasonable cos they are factory rejected goods but in a really good condition. I really can't see where the defect is... So anyway! Go see see look look!

More bridal nails...

2 sets of bridal nails with flowers and crystals. One of gel, another acrylic.

The most common question would always be: Which is better? Gel or acrylic? My answer: Both are equally good, except that they are of different texture and the method of extending them is slightly different. Variety of colours are also different. And all these explain why I would always advise which is more suitable only after you have chosen your nail design. Ultimately, my job is to make your nails last as long as possible with minimal or without colour chipping, crystals dropping etc. :)


Champagne glitter gel and white flowers with a tinge of yellow.


You can't really see the champagne glitter in the picture but it does sparkle like mad in real, and thus making this set of nails really pretty and bridal!


Clear pink glitter acrylic nails with simple flowers and tons of blings of different sizes. This set looks really sweet and glittery in real cos of the clear pink glitter base.


I hope you girls can see the pink glitter more clearly here. :)

You Really Turn Me On

Today's manicure is another nerdy manicure. :-P They were inspired by the power button on your computer, monitor, XBOX, TV, etc. Silly, I know, but I like doing nerdy designs. Plus, I have been on the XBOX waaaaay too much lately. I watched the entire five seasons of Weeds on streaming Netflix in a matter of days. Yeah, I don't half-ass stuff, I go ALL out. :-D I call it dedication, others call it sad. :)



I used China Glaze Millennium as a base, and I have to say, as much as I love and rave about this color for nail art and Konading, I do NOT like it as an all-over color on me. For the On symbols, I used China Glaze Millennium mixed with American Apparel Hassid. Topped it off with Seche Vite top coat.

What a turn-on.

A pretty simple set of acrylic nails. White glitter and hearts embedded. And most importantly, the perfect nails to have for a set of nail extension. Long slender nail bed. Ahhh. Nice.


Silver ♥ and pink ♥ hearts.


I love taking closeup shots at this angle cos you can see how an extended nail looks like from the side view. It took me quite a bit of time and experience to 'mould' a proper nail sculpture. :)


This is something I would love to have on my nails everyday cos it goes well with everything you wear.

Layla Smalti Ceramic Effect: recensione e swatch intera linea

I Ceramic Effect sono i nuovissimi smalti della Layla Cosmetics...

Come caratteristica principale hanno un'alta pigmentazione ed una consistenza che si autolivella sulle unghie...

Incuriosita da queste proprietà qualche settimana fa ne ho comprato qualcuno e poi mi sono ripromessa di provarli...

Ora ne sono innamorata...ma sapete che all'inizio li avevo giudicati male?



La Layla consiglia di applicare questi smalti anche senza base, io per principio metto la base anche sotto lo smalto bianco!!!

Questo perche' ritengo che l'unghia risulti più liscia, l'applicazione dello smalto risulti più agevole e la stessa rimozione sia più veloce...

E quindi come ogni manicure, avevo messo la mia base SOS Repair & Care di Essence.
Solo che andando a stendere lo smalto, questo non scorreva assolutamente, lasciava striature, al che mi sono detta "ma non doveva essere autolivellante?"...Mah...
Li ho lasciati lì con l'idea di riprovarli...

L'ho fatto tra ieri e oggi, ma questa volta ho cambiato base e messo sotto lo SPECIAL BASE al pantenolo sempre della Layla...

Bene, il risultato mi ha sorpreso, lo smalto si stendeva che era una meraviglia e finalmente ne ho potuto apprezzare le caratteristiche autolivellanti!

Tutto questo per dirvi come una cosa "insignificante " come una base possa "compromettere" il risultato della nostra manicure...

Ok dopo tante chiacchere ecco finalmente gli swatch dell'intera collezione che conta la bellezza di 10 colori.

Nella confezione sembra beige e invece una volta steso e' un panna lievemente rosato...
Sarà che a me questo colore ricorda inevitabilmente vestiti da sposa e matrimoni per la sua delicatezza ;-)

Un rosa molto zuccheroso ;-) con due passate non e' del tutto coprente.
Mi piace molto come punto di rosa dona una dolce luce alle unghie!

Forse il più fluido e brillante di tutti, ce l'ho ancora su' mentre vi scrivo e non faccio altro che guardarmi le unghie ogni volta che passo vicino ad una luce più forte...brilla, brilla, brilla!

Altro rosso bellissimo, ma quanto ho penato per fotografarlo nemmeno vi immaginate.
Nello studio fotografico appariva così, poi appena uscivo sotto il neon diventata più scuro...
Alla fine siccome e' un colore "mutevole" vi riporto altre foto per documentarvi i cambi in base alla luce.

Ch-Ch-Chain of Fools

Today's nails were inspired by the obvious... chains. :-D My friend at work said I should've done whips on the other hand and gone with a whole bondage theme. :-P I've have this idea milling about in my head for a while now, and finally decided to do it. Originally in my brain, it was more complex, with shading and depth and whatnot, but once I laid down the initial shapes, I liked it simple and graphic, so I left it. :) (hope you like it too!!)



I used American Apparel Hassid as a base, with China Glaze Millennium for the silver chains, and China Glaze 2030 for the gold. :) Topped it all off with 2 coats of Seche Vite top coat, because I wouldn't want the chains to break, right?!

So in closing, I feel the need to add this.... because it kept coming up when I was trying to think of titles for this post....

You ARE the Weakest Link.... Goodbye! :-P

This is my first konadicure. The result isn't perfect as you can see but I really like it.

I used plate m3. Fot the stamping I used KIKO polishes.

Ho provato la matita per occhi LineDefinir di Maybelline black onyx.

Volevo cambiare genere ed ho trovato questa che, anzichè essere la classica matita per occhi che si tempera, ha all'interno una mina, si gira la parte evidenziata in nero ed esce appunto la matita.

I pro:

Il tratto è abbastanza fine e sicuramente molto pratico da applicare. Più leggero di una normale matita per occhi ed il colore è ben definito assomiglia molto al tratto di un eye liner.

I contro:

Delicatissima.

Appena scartata l'ho voluta subito provare e girando il pomellino la mina per due volte si è spezzata....evidentemente aveva preso qualche "scossone" in precedenza.

Secondo me dura anche molto meno rispetto ad una comune matita per occhi. Mi sembra che la quantità di prodotto sia inferiore.

Bisogna inoltre fare attenzione a far scendere "solo" il quantitativo di matita che ci serve in quel momento perchè quando andiamo a richiudere con il tappo resta "spiaccicata" all'interno. Non è previsto che si possa far risalire...la mina scende solo.

Il prezzo è più o meno nella media circa 8,00 euro.

Insomma il gioco non vale la candela....molto meglio la cara vecchia matita da temperare. Sicuramente più resistente agli eventuali urti e più duratura.

Flight of the Bumblebee

Fun fact of the day: Melissa means bee/honey. It comes from Greek mythology, where Melissa was a nymph who discovered honey and its uses, and fed Zeus honey when he was a baby instead of milk. Crazy, eh? Today's nails are inspired by my name! :)



I used Orly Snowcone as a base, with American Apparel Hassid for the flight path, and for the black outlines/stripes of the bee, American Apparel Manila for the body of the bee, and a mix of American Apparel Cotton and American Apparel Mount Royal for the wings. Topped it off with only one coat of Seche Vite top coat, as I was running low on time.

Where do you think the bee is heading to?

Maybe to see his 'honey'? haha!

A design I came up with for someone who likes pink and bling bling stuffs. This is really sweet isn't it? :D


The huge crystals are mad bling in real life! And the glitter pink base sparkles as well. Really nice and attention grabbing!
